Your Journey to Queendom

The Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone.

These three names have been used to describe the phases of a woman’s life, the journey from child to womanhood. However, we choose to view it differently.

Some women are unable to embody the ‘Mother’ phase, or remain child-free by choice. When you think of ‘Crone’, you most likely think of a haggard old creature, rather than a wise woman in her power. And the phase between adulthood and old age tends to be overlooked altogether.

And so, we at AllAboutTheQueendom have come up with our own way to identify the magical phases of a woman’s life:

The Maiden, The Princess, The Wild Woman, and The Queen.

The Maiden is the first step towards full Queendom, all hope, youthful innocence, and eagerness to learn. She is unafraid of self-expression and loves to be silly, playful, and curious.

The Princess is the next step as she begins to comprehend her power. She understands her ability to make impressions and is maturing and ripening as she looks towards fully claiming her crown.

The Wild Woman is confident, both in her body and in her emotions. She feels her connection to nature and embraces her wild. She can move through all layers of her mess and magic with equal ease.

And finally, The Queen. She knows who she is, unafraid and unapologetic, fully owning her power and shining her brightest. She is proud of her journey and all she has achieved, and she is excited by aging. She is magnificent and fully realised, the true completion and accumulation of all the stages that came before.

The important thing to remember is to find excitement in each stage.

I’m sure you’ve heard:

‘Wait until you get your first period: it’s awful.’

‘Wait until you’re an adult: you’ll see how hard life is.’

‘Wait until your clock starts ticking: you’ll want children.’

‘Wait until you hit menopause: you’ll feel like life is over.’

‘Wait until your hair goes grey: you’ll want to dye it.’

But what if instead of fearing each stage, you looked forward to it as part of an exciting journey? As part of growing into your power? We’re personally excited by the grey hairs we’ve got coming in. Honestly! Silver-haired women are beautiful, and we’ve never bought into the idea of The Crone as a lonely, haggard woman. That’s why we call her The Queen. If you appreciate each stage, the aging process and the journey can be beautiful.

In our society, there is a perpetual sickness of ‘not enoughness’ that never lets women just be in the moment. As teenagers, you want to be older. When you’re older, you want the body you had in your teens. When you turn thirty, you mourn your twenties. When you hit forty, you miss your thirties. We’re never allowed to relax where we are, here and now, in the moment.

Ladies, NOW is the moment, the time and place to live joyfully as we are — loving ourselves through every stage.

I’m sure you’re thinking, ‘So before I can become a Queen, I have to go through all of those stages?’

Well, kind of. But you can always be Queenly.

Queenly qualities start showing up as early as the Maiden. These qualities build over time as you move through each phase, and then when you are ready, they explode into a cornucopia of Queendom.

You arrive naturally at your womanly maturity, full of wonder and wisdom — it’s such a high, deep magical place to be and it’s effortless, but full of feeling!

It’s important to fully inhabit each stage, rather than try to rush through them. Because, otherwise, when you arrive at your Queendom, it will be barren. Your castle will lack a strong foundation and it will be crumbling down.

Being Queenly is about more than eating chocolate and having luxurious baths (although we love those, obviously). It’s about creating a Queendom you are happy to live in with no desire to escape from, full of relationships that make you feel fabulous and support you to flourish. Once you know what you desire most in life, you can take daily action to make it happen.

But it starts in this moment, embracing where you’re at in every stage. Ladies, starting today, celebrate each phase as your journey towards your full Queendom!
